Get Set Up in Five Minutes
The fastest path from a fresh account to a working watchlist and portfolio.
Five minutes is enough to make the Terminal yours. Do these four things in order:
- Look up a stock you own or follow. Press the search bar at the top (or hit Cmd-K / Ctrl-K) and type a ticker. Skim the stock page tabs — this is the research core everything else links back to.
- Star it into your watchlist. Click the heart on the stock page, or add tickers directly on the Watchlist page. Your watchlist powers the calendars' and news feed's "my stocks" filters too.
- Start your portfolio. On the Portfolio page, add a manual account and enter a few holdings — ticker, shares, and cost basis. (You can import a file or, on Pro, link your brokerage later.)
- Set your display preferences. In the sidebar foot, pick your theme and display currency; number format lives in Settings. Every number on the site follows them — details in Theme, Currency, and Number Format.
From then on, the Dividend Calendar, Earnings Calendar, and News Wire can all be scoped to *your* watchlist and portfolio — the Terminal starts working for you instead of the whole market.
