Century Global Commodities Corp (TSX:CNT), which controls some of the largest iron ore resources in Canada, said that its flagship Joyce Lake direct shipping iron ore (DSO) project in Newfoundland and Labrador, close to Schefferville, in Québec has achieved an environmental milestone. The Hong Kong-based company said the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC) has communicated the outcome of a conformity review of the draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Joyce Lake DSO project through a letter dated November 7, 2022.

Century Global Commodities Corp (TSX:CNT), along with its 91.6%-owned Joyce Direct Iron Inc (JDI) subsidiary, have announced feasibility study (FS) results for the Joyce Lake Direct Shipping Iron Ore (DSO) project at the Attikamagen property in Labrador. “I am pleased with the feasibility study results at an initial capital cost of C$270.4 million, generating after-tax NPV (net present value) of C$184.6 million and after-tax IRR (internal rate of return) of 20.01%, which provide the foundation for our further advancement of the development of the project,” Century Global Commodities CEO Sandy Chim said in a statement.

Century Global Commodities Corporation said it has filed financial results for its fiscal first quarter ended June 30, 2022. Notably, as of June 30, 2022, the company reported working capital of $10.2 million, consisting of cash, bank deposits and marketable securities of $8.2 million, accounts receivables and other assets of $4.5 million, and current liabilities of $2.5 million.

Century Global Commodities Corp (TSX:CNT) wrapped up its 2022 financial year with a working capital balance of C$11.3 million, according to its year-end statements.
