The terms and conditions governing your use of DividendData.com, the Dividend Data Terminal, and our spreadsheet add-ins.
Last updated: July 18, 2026 · Privacy Policy
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are a legally binding agreement between you, whether personally or on behalf of an entity (“you”), and Dividend Data LLC, doing business as Dividend Data (“Dividend Data”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), concerning your access to and use of our Services.
By creating an account, clicking to accept, or accessing or using any of our Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, you must not use the Services.
The Services are intended for users who are at least 18 years old. Persons under 18 are not permitted to use or register for the Services. If you use the Services on behalf of an entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
We may modify these Terms from time to time as described in Section 20. The “Last updated” date above reflects the current version.
These Terms apply to all Dividend Data products and services, including:
Collectively, these are the “Services.” Supplemental terms or documentation posted within individual products are incorporated by reference into these Terms. Your use of the Google Sheets add-on and Excel add-in is additionally subject to the marketplace terms of Google and Microsoft, respectively.
The information provided through the Services is not intended for distribution to or use by any person in any jurisdiction where such distribution or use would be contrary to law or regulation, or would subject us to any registration requirement in that jurisdiction.
You may need an account to access certain features. By registering, you represent and warrant that:
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Accounts are personal to you: one account per person, and credentials may not be shared. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or contain inaccurate information, and to reclaim usernames where necessary.
Certain features require a paid subscription. Current plans, prices, and included features are described on our Pricing page. By subscribing, you agree that:
We reserve the right to correct pricing errors and to refuse or cancel any order, including orders that appear fraudulent or abusive.
Access to financial data through the Services is governed by a credit-based system and other usage limits (such as rate limits and history depth). Each plan includes a periodic allocation of data credits shared across the Terminal and the spreadsheet add-ins.
Attempts to circumvent credit or usage limits — including automated retrieval, account sharing, creating multiple accounts, or exploiting system vulnerabilities — are a material breach of these Terms and may result in suspension or termination.
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account’s billing settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid term — you keep access to paid features until your billing period expires, and you will not be charged again.
Except where required by applicable law, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial subscription periods or unused credits. That said, we want you to be happy: if you are unsatisfied, contact us at support@dividenddata.com and we will review refund requests case by case.
If you are a consumer in the EU, EEA, or UK: by purchasing a subscription and immediately accessing digital content, you expressly consent to immediate performance and acknowledge that your statutory 14-day withdrawal right is lost once performance has begun, to the extent permitted by law.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the Services and the data made available through them for your personal, non-commercial use.
Plans or agreements that expressly include a commercial-use license permit use of exported data in professional reports, client deliverables, and internal commercial models, subject to the specific terms of that plan or agreement. Unless your plan expressly says otherwise, your license is personal and non-commercial.
All plans are subject to these restrictions. You may not:
You may not access or use the Services for any purpose other than that for which we make them available. You agree not to:
Violation of these restrictions may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account, forfeiture of remaining subscription time to the extent permitted by law, and legal action.
The Services — including all source code, databases, functionality, software, designs, text, graphics, charts, proprietary metrics and scores, and the “Dividend Data” name and logo (collectively, the “Content”) — are our proprietary property or licensed to us, and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Underlying market data is supplied by third-party providers and remains subject to their rights.
Except as expressly permitted by these Terms, no part of the Services or Content may be copied, reproduced, republished, uploaded, posted, transmitted, distributed, sold, licensed, or otherwise exploited for any commercial purpose without our express prior written permission. We reserve all rights not expressly granted to you.
You retain ownership of the data you enter into the Services — portfolios, watchlists, notes, and imported files (“Your Content”). You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, display, and back up Your Content solely to operate, secure, and improve the Services for you. You are responsible for Your Content and represent that it does not infringe any third-party rights or violate any law.
If you submit feedback, suggestions, or ideas (“Feedback”), you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, modify, and incorporate the Feedback into our Services for any purpose, without compensation or attribution.
The Services rely on and link to third-party websites, data, and services that we do not own or control — including market data providers, payment processors, sign-in providers (Google, Microsoft), the Google Workspace Marketplace and Microsoft AppSource, and brokerage data aggregators. We do not investigate, monitor, or warrant third-party content or services, and we are not responsible for them. Any dealings you have with third parties are solely between you and that third party, under their own terms and privacy policies.
The Terminal offers an optional, opt-in feature to link brokerage accounts through third-party aggregation providers (such as Plaid). By linking an account, you:
You can unlink an account at any time in your portfolio settings.
Dividend Data LLC, its owners, employees, and contributors are not registered investment advisers, broker-dealers, banks, or tax or legal advisors, and are not registered with the SEC, FINRA, or any financial regulatory authority. All content provided through the Services — including stock and fund data, metrics, scores, screeners, calculators, charts, AI-generated reports and answers, videos, newsletters, and educational material — is general information for educational and informational purposes only. It is impersonal, is not tailored to your circumstances, and does not constitute personalized investment, financial, legal, accounting, or tax advice. No fiduciary, advisory, or professional relationship is created by your use of the Services.
Nothing on the Services constitutes an offer, solicitation, or recommendation to buy or sell any security or to pursue any investment strategy. Any proprietary scores, grades, valuations, or model outputs (including “intrinsic value” estimates and safety scores) are the mechanical output of published methodologies applied to third-party data — they are opinions, not predictions or advice. You are solely responsible for your investment decisions, and we strongly encourage you to consult a qualified, licensed financial advisor before making any investment.
Investing in securities involves substantial risk, including the possible loss of the entire amount invested. Past performance is not indicative of future results. Dividends are not guaranteed and may be reduced or eliminated at any time. We do not guarantee any outcome, income, or profit.
Financial data is sourced from third-party providers and public filings and may contain errors, omissions, or delays. Quotes may be delayed. Figures may be adjusted, restated, or presented under differing conventions. All data and content are provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, and you should independently verify any data point before relying on it.
Portions of the Services use artificial intelligence to generate summaries, answers, and reports. AI output can be incomplete, outdated, or simply wrong — including numbers, citations, and characterizations — and must not be relied upon as a substitute for the underlying data or professional advice. AI output is provided for convenience only and is subject to every disclaimer in this Section 12.
Dividend Data may receive compensation from affiliate links and advertisements on our website and in our communications. This compensation may influence which products we mention, but we strive to provide honest and objective analysis.
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN “AS-IS” AND “AS-AVAILABLE” BASIS. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, IN CONNECTION WITH THE SERVICES AND YOUR USE OF THEM, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE MAKE NO WARRANTY THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED, OR THAT ANY CONTENT OR DATA IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR CURRENT. NO ADVICE OR INFORMATION, WHETHER ORAL OR WRITTEN, OBTAINED FROM US OR THROUGH THE SERVICES CREATES ANY WARRANTY NOT EXPRESSLY MADE HEREIN.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL DIVIDEND DATA LLC, ITS OFFICERS, MEMBERS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, LOSS OF DATA, TRADING LOSSES, OR INVESTMENT LOSSES — ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES, ANY CONTENT OR DATA OBTAINED THROUGH THEM, OR ANY INVESTMENT DECISION YOU MAKE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, REGARDLESS OF THE FORM OF ACTION, IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE SIX (6) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM AND (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages; if these laws apply to you, some of the above may not apply, and our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law. The limitations in this Section apply to every theory of liability — contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise — and are fundamental elements of the bargain between you and us; the Services would not be offered at their current prices without them.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Dividend Data LLC and its affiliates, officers, members, agents, partners, and employees from and against any loss, damage, liability, claim, or demand — including reasonable attorneys’ fees — made by any third party arising out of: (1) your use of the Services; (2) your breach of these Terms; (3) your breach of the representations and warranties in these Terms; (4) your violation of the rights of a third party, including intellectual property rights; (5) Your Content; or (6) any harmful act toward another user. We reserve the right, at your expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter for which you are required to indemnify us, and you agree to cooperate with our defense.
To expedite resolution and control costs, before filing an arbitration either party must first send the other a written notice of the dispute describing the claim and the relief sought (to us: support@dividenddata.com, subject “Notice of Dispute”), and the parties must attempt in good faith to resolve it informally for at least thirty (30) days.
If informal resolution fails, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be resolved by binding arbitration on an individual basis, administered by the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this agreement to arbitrate. The arbitrator has exclusive authority to resolve any dispute about the interpretation, applicability, or enforceability of this arbitration agreement, and must follow applicable law. Arbitration may be conducted by videoconference, by telephone, on the basis of written submissions, or — if an in-person hearing is required — in the county where you reside or another mutually agreed location. Payment of filing and arbitrator fees is governed by the AAA’s rules.
YOU AND DIVIDEND DATA EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A TRIAL BY JURY AND THE RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS, COLLECTIVE, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. Claims may be brought only in an individual capacity, and the arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person’s claims. If this class waiver is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim (and only that claim) shall proceed in court, with the remainder in arbitration.
Either party may (a) bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies, and (b) seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction for disputes concerning intellectual property rights, unauthorized access, or scraping.
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing support@dividenddata.comwith the subject line “Arbitration Opt-Out” — including your name and account email — within thirty (30) days of first accepting these Terms. Opting out of arbitration does not affect any other provision of these Terms.
To the extent permitted by law, any claim arising out of the Services must be filed within one (1) year after the cause of action arose, or it is permanently barred.
These Terms and your use of the Services are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. For any dispute not subject to arbitration, you and Dividend Data consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in Maryland. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods and the Uniform Computer Information Transactions Act (UCITA) do not apply to these Terms.
We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe material on the Services infringes your copyright, send a notice to support@dividenddata.com(subject “DMCA Notice”) including: (1) identification of the copyrighted work; (2) identification and location (URL) of the allegedly infringing material; (3) your name, address, telephone number, and email; (4) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; (5) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf; and (6) your physical or electronic signature. We will respond to valid notices, which may include removing the material, and we may terminate repeat infringers’ accounts. Counter-notices may be sent to the same address.
By using the Services or emailing us, you consent to receive electronic communications from us (email and in-app notices), and you agree that all agreements, notices, disclosures, and other communications we provide electronically satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing. You consent to the use of electronic signatures and records, and waive any requirement for non-electronic delivery to the extent permitted by law. Transactional and account emails are part of the Services; marketing emails always include an unsubscribe link.
We are continuously improving the Services and reserve the right to change, modify, or discontinue any feature, plan, or aspect of the Services at any time. For material changes to these Terms, we will provide notice (by email, in-app notice, or by updating the “Last updated” date), and your continued use after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to a change, your remedy is to stop using the Services and cancel your subscription.
We cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. The Services may experience downtime for maintenance, updates, or technical issues, and content may contain typographical errors or inaccuracies that we may correct at any time. We are not liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Services, and nothing in these Terms obligates us to maintain, support, or update the Services.
These Terms remain in effect while you use the Services. We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Services at any time, without notice or liability, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or applicable law, or to protect the Services or other users. You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time.
If we terminate or suspend your account for breach, you are prohibited from creating a new account under your name, a false name, or the name of any third party, and we reserve the right to pursue appropriate legal remedies. Upon any termination, the provisions that by their nature should survive — including Sections 9 (Intellectual Property), 12–14 (Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability), 15 (Indemnification), 16 (Dispute Resolution), and 22 (Miscellaneous) — survive.
