Savannah Resources Plc (SAVNF) Discusses Barroso Lithium Project Progress and Strategic Importance for European Supply Transcript

Savannah Resources PLC (AIM:SAV, XETRA:SAV, OTC:SAVNF) shares climbed around 10% in Wednesday morning's trade, with an operational update coming in the wake of a recent oversubscribed £9.8 million fundraise. The small-cap firm highlighted that global lithium demand has strengthened, with spodumene prices rising to about USD 1,100 per tonne, and flexed its apparent financial wherewithal as it looks toward value-adding activity.

Shares in Savannah Resources PLC (AIM:SAV, ETR:SAV, OTC:SAVNF) climbed 5% to 3.68p after the company completed an oversubscribed £9.2 million placing and subscription to fund expansion at its Barroso Lithium Project in northern Portugal. The fundraising, which was scaled back due to strong investor demand, saw new shares issued at 3.7p each, with additional funds expected from a separate retail offer open until 11 November.

Savannah Resources PLC (AIM:SAV, ETR:SAV, OTC:SAVNF) has raised a total of £4.8 million in fresh investment after strong support from both institutional and individual investors, with the latest tranche coming through a retail-focused share offer. The AIM-quoted miner, which is developing a lithium project in northern Portugal, said it secured a further £300,000 from private investors via the RetailBook platform.

The lithium market has been in a severe bear market. Delays in major projects like Zijin Mining's 3Q Project could roughly balance the market from 2026 to 2028. Booming EV and BESS sales, if they continue, could cause large lithium deficits from 2029 onwards. Strong lithium demand and potential deficits set up a favorable scenario for patient investors in quality junior lithium miners over the next 5-7 years.

London-listed Savannah Resources has secured temporary land access to a large chunk of its future lithium mining site in northern Portugal, allowing it to conduct fieldwork and begin the second phase of drilling, the company said on Thursday.
