Typically, this fund allocates a substantial portion (at least 80%) of its net assets to common stocks of U.S.-listed energy companies. It also employs derivatives, mainly futures and options contracts, whose underlying assets include securities, other futures, and various stock market indices. A significant part of its portfolio will be focused on energy firms with small to mid-range market capitalizations. Additionally, the fund has the flexibility to acquire American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) for access to international energy companies, and may also invest in U.S. government debt.
