(Nasdaq: MU) today announced it has completed the acquisition and assumed ownership of Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation's (PSMC) P5 site in Tongluo, Miaoli County, Taiwan, under the acquisition agreement previously announced on January 17, 2026. The new site will complement Micron's existing operations in Taiwan as an extension of the company's vertically integrated mega campus in Taichung, located approximately 15 miles away.

(Nasdaq: MU) today announced it has signed an exclusive Letter of Intent (LOI) to acquire Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation's (PSMC) P5 fabrication site in Tongluo, Miaoli County, Taiwan, for total cash consideration of US$1.8 billion. The acquisition includes an existing 300mm fab cleanroom of 300,000 square feet and will further position Micron to address growing global demand for memory solutions.

Navitas is pivoting from consumer chargers to GaN solutions for AI data centers, leveraging Nvidia demand and Taiwan's foundry ecosystem post-TSMC exit. Securing PSMC as a foundry partner and maintaining access to Taiwan's specialized GaN testing ensures operational resilience and supply chain stability. Risks include execution at PSMC, aggressive Chinese competitors like Innoscience, pricing pressures, and heavy reliance on Nvidia's roadmap.
