Preferred Bank (“the Bank”) reported net income of $33.5 million or $2.78 per diluted share for the second quarter of 2026. This represents an increase in net income of $2.4 million from the prior quarter and an increase of $693,000 over the same quarter last year. The increase compared to the prior quarter was due to an increase in net interest income of $4.7 million partially offset by an $827,000 decrease in noninterest income and a small increase in noninterest expense of $176,000. The difference compared to the same quarter last year was again due to net interest income which increased by $3.1 million partially offset by a small decrease in noninterest income of $279,000 and an increase in noninterest expense of $1.3 million.
