The newly minted Honeywell Aerospace stunned Wall Street only weeks into its life as a standalone company.

Honeywell Aerospace shares sank nearly 17% before the bell on Thursday, as supply-chain issues forced it to cut its annual sales target and forecast profit below estimates.

The company now expects organic growth of 4% to 5% for the full year, down from its prior forecast of 7% to 9%.

Honeywell Aerospace is rated a buy, supported by a robust installed base and strong commercial and defense demand. HONA's recurring revenue model leverages aftermarket sales, with maintenance, repair, and overhaul generating >20x the original sale on key components. Commercial production recovery and defense spending are expected to drive earnings growth faster than revenue as the backlog converts and operating leverage improves.
