Shares in Gem Diamonds Limited (LSE:GEMD, OTC:GMDMF)) fell 18% to 3.78p on Wednesday after the company reported a $104 million attributable loss for 2025, driven by a $77.5 million writedown of the carrying value of its Letšeng mine in Lesotho. Revenue fell to $98.4 million from $154.2 million in 2025, while underlying EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) collapsed to $3.9 million from $29.7 million.

Gem Diamonds Limited shares jumped some 36% in Wednesday's early trades after it told investors that all of its FY2025 operational metrics were “within or ahead of the revised guidance”. The gem miner, reporting operational and sales results for the quarter ended 31 December, said it had recovered 20,961 carats in the quarter, taking FY 2025 recovered carats to 90,354, versus 105,012 in FY 2024.

Gem Diamonds Limited (LSE:GEMD, OTC:GMDMF) shares rose 9% to 3.62p after the company reported a solid third quarter, with higher diamond prices and several major recoveries from its Letšeng mine in Lesotho. During the three months to 30 September 2025, 22,268 carats were recovered and 22,830 carats sold, generating US$25.7 million in revenue, up 9% from the previous quarter.
