The fund primarily directs at least 80% of its total assets, including any borrowed capital, into municipal obligations. These securities are specifically selected because their income is exempt from ordinary federal income tax. Importantly, the fund has no restrictions on investing in municipal obligations whose interest might be subject to the federal alternative minimum tax. Under normal market conditions, a minimum of 65% of the net assets will be allocated to municipal bonds deemed investment-grade at the point of acquisition.
