

DCC Energy PLC (LSE:DCC) has agreed to a takeover by private equity groups KKR and Energy Capital Partners that values it at about £5.8 billion. The FTSE 100 petrol station owner and energy support services group's board unanimously recommended the improved proposal, which was first submitted earlier this month.

Irish energy distributor DCC Energy has agreed to a £5.75 billion ($7.68 billion) takeover by a consortium comprising U.S. private equity firms KKR and Energy Capital Partners, the parties said on Monday.

The Takeover Panel on Wednesday extended the deadline for a consortium of KKR and Energy Capital Partners to make a firm takeover offer for Irish energy distributor DCC to July 16, after the bidders requested more time for discussions.

The UK Takeover Panel on Wednesday further extended until July 15 the deadline for a consortium of KKR and Energy Capital Partners to make a firm offer for DCC , the Irish energy distributor said.

DCC said it would recommend an improved takeover offer from private-equity firms KKR and Energy Capital Partners to shareholders if a formal offer is made.
