Calamos Advisors has launched the Calamos CEF Income & Arbitrage ETF (NYSE Arca: CCEF) on the New York Stock Exchange. The actively managed ETF seeks high current income and long-term capital appreciation.

Calamos expanded into exchange-traded products earlier this year, more recently launching the Calamos Convertible Equity Alternative ETF. The firm specializes in convertible securities and has offered both open-ended and closed-ended funds. CVRT is ultimately focused more on potential appreciation rather than yield, with a focus on convertibles with an "equity-like" tilt.

If the last year or two have taught investors anything, it's that alts can play a big role in portfolios. As recently as 2022, bonds struggled amid significantly low interest rates, with their role as a contrast to stocks weakened.
