Spanish conglomerate Acciona has hired a bank to analyse options for its energy business, Chief Executive Jose Manuel Entrecanales said on Friday.

Spanish renewable power company Acciona Energia will cut dividends, curb investments, generate around 2 billion euros ($2.36 billion) from asset sales and reduce its debt to protect its credit ratings, it said late on Thursday.

Acciona Energia has reached an agreement with Mexico Infrastructure Partners (MIP) to sell wind and solar assets in the U.S. and Mexico for $1 billion, the Spanish power company said on Monday in a regulatory filing.
