The Dividend Calendar
Upcoming ex-dividend and payment dates as a visual week or month — for stocks and funds, scoped to your holdings.
The Dividend Calendar shows upcoming dividend dates as a visual grid of company logos, by week or by month. It is a free tool for every signed-in user.
Ex-Dividend vs Payment Dates
The calendar can be keyed by either date, switchable with the tabs under the scope rail:
- Ex-dividend date (the default) is the action date. To receive a company's next dividend, you must own the shares before its ex-dividend date — buy on or after it and that payment goes to the seller. This is the date that matters when you're deciding when to buy.
- Payment date is the payday — the day the cash actually lands in your brokerage account, typically a few weeks after the ex-date. This is the view for mapping out your income month.
Each basis keeps its own URL, so both views are shareable.
Week and Month Views
Week view shows Monday through Friday, with each day grouped by payout frequency — Quarterly, Monthly, and other frequencies. Month view shows the whole month with the most-followed payers first. The toolbar moves between periods, snaps to today, and downloads the current view as a branded PNG image for sharing.
Scope and Filters
The tabs scope the calendar to All Stocks, All Funds (dividend-paying ETFs, mutual funds, and closed-end funds), My Watchlist, or My Portfolio. The filter menu narrows by market cap and exchange on the stocks view, or fund size on the funds view — and when you're scoped to your watchlist or portfolio, filters step aside so every one of your own names always shows.
The Stock Preview Panel
Click any tile for a slide-over preview: the live quote, forward annual dividend, forward yield, and payout frequency, five-year dividend and yield charts, and the payment-by-payment history with raises and cuts color-coded. The heart adds the ticker to your watchlist, and "Open Full Page" jumps to the ticker's dividend tab.
Frequently Asked Questions
If I buy a stock on its ex-dividend date, do I get the dividend?
No. You must own the shares before the ex-dividend date to receive the upcoming payment. Buying on or after the ex-date means the next dividend goes to the previous owner — you receive the one after that.
Does the calendar include ETFs and funds?
Yes. The All Funds tab shows market-wide fund distributions, the search finds fund tickers, and watchlist or portfolio scopes include your funds alongside your stocks.
