Most of my income comes from a "set and forget" layer of the portfolio that gets surprisingly little of my time. A well-known dividend favorite has been beaten down, and I think the dip has created a rare entry point. There is a way to own a classic safe-haven asset without giving up yield, and one fund stands out from its peers.

Artificial intelligence (AI) ETFs can capture growth that broad market funds miss, according to Zeno Mercer, head of robotics and AI research at VettaFi. Mercer joined ETF Prime host Nate Geraci to discuss whether heavy AI spending will pay off.

UBS ETRACS Gold Shares Covered Call ETN is downgraded from Strong Buy to Buy due to a flat-to-down outlook for gold prices. GLDI remains the preferred gold income vehicle, offering ~27.1% TTM yield and superior downside cushion in a sideways or declining gold market. KGLD is rated Sell, as its leveraged, less aggressive option strategy underperforms in non-bullish gold regimes and lacks a clear positive return path.

The Kurv Gold Enhanced Income ETF offers gold exposure with a dynamic options strategy, delivering a high monthly yield for income-focused investors. KGLD maintains a high correlation with IAU, outperforming typical call-writing peers by avoiding upside caps during gold rallies. Rising Treasury yields have pressured gold and KGLD, but the fund's flexible approach and monthly payouts support long-term income strategies.

The Kurv Gold Enhanced Income ETF is rated Buy, offering a 15.04% trailing yield with minimal one-year total return lag versus GLD. KGLD's flexible derivatives strategy enables management to balance gold upside participation and monthly income, outperforming simpler covered call funds in dynamic markets. Despite a high 1.00% expense ratio and variable payouts, KGLD's one-year record shows limited return erosion, though downside protection remains modest.

The 2018–2020 yield desert marked an inflection point for covered call ETFs. Starting from the inception of JEPI, many names have emerged that have been widely adopted by income-oriented investors. However, apart from "7-10" flagship names, other instruments haven't managed to attract significant AuM figures.

The NEOS Gold High Income ETF and the Kurv Gold Enhanced Income ETF both monetize gold upside for income but diverge in structure and return patterns, warranting close comparison for yield-focused gold investors. KGLD's upside exposure to gold sits near 86% against IAUI's ~50%, and it pays 15.80% to IAUI's 11.80%. More of the rally and more income. KGLD looks more nimble in its options book, shifting cadence week to week. IAUI prices were at the money and had its strikes breached repeatedly this year.

Kurv's Gold Enhanced Income ETF (KGLD) offers an 18%+ yield and tax-efficient monthly income, appealing to income-focused gold investors. KGLD underperformed recently due to gold's correction, but has shown better NAV preservation and payout stability than peers IAUI and IGLD. The fund's synthetic options strategy and high ROC distributions make it attractive for taxable accounts, despite a higher expense ratio.
