- This portfolio boasts significant investment flexibility, capable of allocating its entire capital, up to 100%, into either equity securities (stocks) or fixed-income securities (bonds), or any blend of the two. This exposure can be gained directly through investments in individual stocks and bonds, or indirectly by investing in other pooled investment vehicles. Such indirect methods include BlackRock's own equity and/or fixed-income mutual funds, known as "underlying funds," as well as exchange-traded funds (ETFs) from both BlackRock (affiliated) and other companies (unaffiliated).
