On July 29, Amplify ETFs launched the Amplify Fairlead Tactical Bitcoin ETF (BNAV) on Cboe, targeting long-term capital appreciation through actively managed exposure to Bitcoin. The fund is designed to maintain Bitcoin exposure representing 70% to 150% of its net assets.
The rise of Amplify ETFs is one of the more interesting stories in the U.S. ETF industry. Although it only launched its first ETF under that brand in 2016, its founder, Christian Magoon, was a well-known figure in the ETF space long before that.
Amplify's crypto option income ETFs declared March distributions ranging from 27.9% to 50.52% annualized. The funds write weekly covered calls on crypto ETPs rather than holding Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana or XRP directly.
