The fund's primary objective is to achieve substantial capital appreciation over the long term. It dedicates at least 80% of its net assets, alongside any borrowed funds used for investment purposes, to purchasing equity securities of smaller Japanese firms. The fund's management classifies a company as Japanese if it is legally organized under Japanese statutes, or if its principal securities trading market is Japan, or if the majority of its assets or business operations are situated within Japan.
