1. Acceptance of Terms
By installing or using the Dividend Data Excel Add-in or Google Sheets Add-in ("Add-ins"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Add-ins.
2. Description of Service
Dividend Data provides financial data retrieval services through spreadsheet add-ins. Our Add-ins allow you to:
- Fetch dividend data, financial statements, and stock quotes
- Access historical financial data
- Build formulas for financial analysis
The Add-ins provide informational data only and do not constitute financial advice.
3. User Accounts
Registration
To use premium features, you must create an account with a valid email address.
Account Security
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your API key
- All activity under your account
- Notifying us immediately of unauthorized access
Account Restrictions
- One account per person
- No sharing API keys with others
- No automated bulk scraping beyond normal use
4. Subscription & Billing
Free Tier
- Limited data requests per month
- Limited function types
- No payment required
Paid Subscriptions
- Increased data requests & function types
- Priority support
- Billed monthly or annually via Stripe
Refund Policy
- 30-day money-back guarantee for new subscribers
- Refunds processed within 5-7 business days
- Pro-rated refunds not available for annual plans after 30 days
Cancellation
You may cancel anytime through your account settings or by contacting support@dividenddata.com. Access continues until the end of your billing period.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
- Use the Add-ins for any illegal purpose
- Redistribute our data without authorization
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
- Use automated tools to exceed rate limits
- Resell access to your account or API key
- Use the service in ways that harm other users
Violation may result in immediate account termination without refund.
6. Data Accuracy Disclaimer
IMPORTANT: Financial data is provided "as is" from third-party sources.
- We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or timeliness
- Data may contain errors, delays, or omissions
- Historical data may be adjusted or restated
- Real-time quotes may be delayed
Do not make investment decisions based solely on data from our Add-ins. Always verify with primary sources.
7. Intellectual Property
- Dividend Data owns all rights to the Add-ins, branding, and documentation
- You retain ownership of your spreadsheets and analyses
- You may not copy, modify, or distribute our software
- "Dividend Data" and our logo are trademarks of Dividend Data LLC
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- Dividend Data is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months
- We are not liable for investment losses based on our data
- We are not liable for service interruptions or data unavailability
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Dividend Data from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:
- Your use of the Add-ins
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
10. Service Modifications
We reserve the right to:
- Modify or discontinue features with or without notice
- Change pricing with 30 days notice to existing subscribers
- Update these Terms (continued use = acceptance)
11. Termination
We may terminate your account if you:
- Violate these Terms
- Engage in abusive behavior
- Fail to pay subscription fees
- Use the service in harmful ways
Upon termination, your right to use the Add-ins ceases immediately.
12. Third-Party Services
Our Add-ins integrate with:
- Microsoft Excel and Office 365
- Google Sheets
- Financial Modeling Prep (data provider)
- Stripe (payments)
- Algolia (search)
We are not responsible for third-party service availability or terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles.
14. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes shall be resolved through:
- Good-faith negotiation (30 days)
- Binding arbitration (if negotiation fails)
Class action waiver: You agree to resolve disputes individually, not as part of a class action.

16. Entire Agreement
These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Dividend Data regarding the Add-ins.
